An Ordinary Day Can Hold More Than One Shape

A branching story does not need to make the world larger. It can make one small day deeper. Dayfold treats each choice as a fold: the material stays recognizable, but its relationships change when you turn the page.

Each decision remains in the story state after the scene changes. The journal makes that continuity visible, and the ending can refer back to an earlier promise. Replaying is therefore more than pressing a reset button: changing one choice lets the reader examine a different causal route through a familiar evening. Local saves preserve versions for later comparison.

The folding metaphor preserves a useful limit: all these shapes come from the same sheet. Dayfold does not need a new world for every branch. The invitation, the reading and the earlier promise remain recognizable while their relationships shift. That familiarity makes comparison possible. Change one morning choice and the reader can notice what the later scene carries differently. A local rehearsal record keeps the sequence available after the immediate emotional response to the ending has passed.
